The Van's RV-7
The RV-7 is a two place aluminum aircraft. It has side by side seating, cruises at over 200mph and is fully
aerobatic. A good description might be that the RV-7 is a well behaved cross country plane capable of
gentleman's aerobatics. This means loops and rolls, but not necessarily the beat-up-the-pilot aerobatics
you might see at an air show. The power to weight ratio of the RV-7 with a 200HP engine is equivalent
to that of a Corvette with a 450HP engine. Bottom line - this is a fast little plane.
The RV-7 is the successor to the very popular RV-6 aircraft that was in production for over a decade.
There are only a handful of RV-7s flying at this time, including the factory demonstrator which was completed in March 2001.
But there are hundreds of kits already under construction including quite a few
quick build kits. It won't be long until a good number of customer built RV-7s are in the sky.
