The Engine

6-28-02
The Eggenfellner Subaru engine has arrived - Yeah!!

6-30-02
Here it is - a Soob on a 7. Eggenfellner Aircraft has done a remarkable job putting this package together. Installing the engine package looks like it will be a breeze.

8-7-02
The firewall penetrations have been completed for all the engine attachments. These include, fuel lines, pump mounts, heater hoses, ECU wiring, brake reservoir and lines, and several other mounting holes. I have removed everything out of the cabin and off the firewall (including the engine). It's time to paint the cabin. The next time things are bolted into the cabin and firewall, they will be permanent.

11-12-02
The MT prop has arrived. If it flies as pretty as it looks we'll be in good shape.

11-27-02
In order to mate the MT prop to the Eggenfellner engine, I had to have a custom adapter made. The adapter spaces the prop 0.4" forward to provide clearance for the prop shaft nut inside the prop hub. The 0.4" spacer locates six custom drive bushings to carry the torque loads between the prop flange and prop hub.
