Subaru Vertical Cowl Inlets
The vertical radiator inlets shown in the pics below dramatically improve engine cooling when using the newer 11" tall radiators.
The inlets are 3.5" wide by 9" tall. The inlets feed an airbox which is mounted onto each radiator. Gearbox air is
provided by a 1.25" x 3" blast tube extending from each airbox.
After making this modification, engine coolant temps now hit 205F to 210F in an extended hard climb and 195F in level flight.
The gearbox seems to stay at about 190F.
