Protek Performance Inc. was founded in 1996 by Robert Paisley to manage continuing R&D efforts in the vehicle electronics industry. Robert has been invloved in the design and manufacture of automotive, motorcycle and aircraft electronics since the late 1980's. In 2001, Robert started building an RV-7 experimental aircraft. The RV-7 project included the use of an Eggenfellner Subaru engine package. The aircraft was completed in June 2003 and has been flown approximately 400 hours since that time including three treks to the Oshkosh Fly-in in Wisconsin

The RV-7 airplane has been used to test and refine three different Eggenfellner engine packages including a normally aspirated 2.5L 4 cylinder Subaru engine which was later normalized with a supercharger, a 2.5L 4 cylinder Subaru WRX/STi supercharged performance engine, and now the latest 3.0L 6 cylinder Subaru engine which will be turbocharged.

Protek Performance is actively involved in the design and manufacture of the engine management systems for the current production by Eggenfellner Aircraft. This includes the electronic fuel injection and ignition systems. Current Eggenfellner production utilizes the Protek EFI system on all H6 Subaru engines. Retrofit kits are in process to allow customers with older 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder Subaru engines to upgrade to the new EFI system.

As opportunities and needs arrise, we will also offer other products for the experimental aircraft market such as our Wide Band Air Fuel Ratio Monitor.
