Ground Bus

The Protek Ground Bus is a forest of tabs bus that gives you a convenient way to bring all your device grounds together in one place. The Ground Bus would typically be mounted on the cabin side of the firewall convenient to most aircraft electrical devices. It provides 32 connection points that are soldered to a 1/16" copper base. The entire unit is then bonded to a 1/8" thick ABS plastic mounting base. Mounting holes are provided to allow either isolated or locally grounded mounting.

Bus Switches



Emergency Power Switch
 This switch is used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to provide the third level of essential bus redundency. The Emergency Power Switch is rated at 50 amps and is provided with 3' of #10 wire lead for direct connection to the Bus Manager. When activated, the Emergency Power switch provides an independent power path to the essential bus that can draw from both system batteries.

Key Switch
 This switch is used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to provide the "master switch" function. The Key Switch is a high quality ON/OFF switch. The key can only be removed in the OFF position. When the Key Switch is turned ON, the main bus and essential bus relays are activated and become hot. Two keys are provided.

Fuel Pump Mode Switch
 This switch is used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to control the function of the automatic backup fuel pump system. This system automatically monitors the fuel pressure and turns on the backup electric fuel pump if the fuel pressure gets low. This is a high quality Single Pole/Double Throw switch with two positions (ON - ON).

Start Battery Select Switch
 This switch is used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to provide control of the start battery select function. This system allows the engine to be started from battery 1, battery 2, or both batteries. This is a high quality Single Pole/Double Throw switch with three positions (ON - OFF - ON).

Start Switch
 This switch is used as an engine start switch. It is a spring loaded momentary switch that is used to engage the starter solenoids and hence the engine starter for cranking. This is a high quality Single Pole/Double Throw switch with a momentary ON position.

ON/OFF Switch
 This switch is a general purpose ON/OFF switch. This switch can be used to control any devices that may be powered off the aircraft busses such as avionics, lights, or other accessories. This is a high quality Single Pole/Single Throw switch rated at 15 amps.

Colored Tefzel wire

Tefzel Aircraft Wire - MIL-W-22759/16
 Yes, this is the standard unshielded aircraft wire used to hookup up most systems in planes. We can't figure out why most aircraft are wired entirely with white wire when many colors are available. Ever try following a white wire through a wire bundle - NOT FUN!

Fuel Pump Relay kit

The Fuel Pump Relay is used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to activate either the primary or backup fuel pump. This kit includes a high quality automotive type relay, wire harness plug and wire terminals.

Starter Solenoids

These high quality starter solenoids are used in conjunction with the Bus Manager to activate the engine starter from one or both batteries. One solenoid is required for each battery. (IMPORTANT - Aircraft master relays look very similar to these solenoids, but they are wired differently and are not suitable as a replacement for this function.)
