Electronic Fuel Injection for 4 cylinder Subaru engines
PN EFI4S

The EFI4S electronic fuel injection system for Subaru 4 cylinder engines has been designed as a retrofit kit for Eggenfellner 4 cylinder aircraft engines. This kit is designed to be used with single cam EJ25 engines as well as STi 4 cylinder engines. The EFI4S system has been custom tailored to the aircraft application and includes the wiring, sensors and EFI computer to update your engine to current standards. The EFI4S system has been premapped for proper fuel delivery and spark timing for the aircraft application.

The EFI4S system is fully compatible with normally aspirated or boosted engines. All EFI4S systems are mapped for boosted operation and do not require modification if you add a turbocharger or supercharger to your engine.
Your original Subaru EFI computer is an unmodifed car computer that has fixed fuel mapping that was designed around the needs and operating conditions of a car. The original computer also has lots of uneeded wiring harness complexity that originally connected to car systems which are not used in the airplane environment. The EFI4S system has been designed specically for the airplane environment with fuel mapping and wiring tailored directly to the airplane installation. The result is better fuel delivery across all flying operating conditions and a system which is physically simpler with only the required inputs and outputs for the airplane application.

The EFI4S wire harness is designed to fit your particular engine. Your original engine harness must be sent in to Protek so that we can use you original sensor and fuel injector connectors where applicable. You will receive a new custom harness with your kit that will plug into your existing ignition coils, fuel injectors, throttle position sensor, coolant sensor, and knock sensor.

The EFI4S uses a Hall effect digital crank sensor for accurate system timing. This consists of a new sensor that is mounted in place of your original crank sensor. Your crankshaft pulley must be sent in to Protek for installation of magnets that trigger the digital crank sensor.
